This is the personal website of Dr. James Murray, a research scientist in protein chemistry currently based in South Korea.

James was born in Carlisle, in the north of the United Kingdom. He went to university at the University of Leeds where he studied medicinal chemistry, he stayed at the same university to undertake a PhD. After completing his PhD, he moved to Newcastle University and worked as a postdoc on mass spectrometry-based proteomics. In 2016 he moved to the Republic of Korea where he is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the IBS center for self -assembly and complexity working on new materials for biochemical applications.

James’ hobbies include powerlifting, running, and self-improvement.

He occasionally blogs about his life in Korea,  what it’s like to do a postdoc in Asia, and research developments in the chemical biology field.
